Ed Schwarz is responsible for ABB’s Marine Systems sales and business development for the Americas. Ed is passionate about bringing sustainable technologies to help decarbonize the maritime industry.
Ed is a Marine Engineer graduate of the US Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, NY. He is a former USCG Unlimited Horsepower Licensed Chief Engineer and a retired Lt., USNR. Ed received the United States Navy Merchant Marine Expeditionary Medal for his service on US flagged ship in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
Ed is a Standing Committee Member on Ferry Transportation and the Marine Transportation System Innovative Science and Technology for the Transportation Research Board, The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine.
For his support of the first all-electric zero emission vessels for the Maid of the Mist Ed received the 2020 Rear Admiral McCready Award. The Lauren S McCready award is intended to recognize graduates of the United States Merchant Marine Academy who have made significant technical achievements in the marine industry.
