This presentation will provide an overview of the recently updated ASCE Manual of Practice 130 – 2nd Ed. (2025), Waterfront Facilities Inspection and Assessment, with emphasis on the revisions and additions introduced in the Second Edition.

The presentation will highlight key changes to the manual, including updated inspection practices, expanded guidance for waterfront and underwater assessments, new material addressing composite structural components, and advancements in inspection tools and technologies. It will also discuss how the updated MOP addresses inspection scoping, condition assessment, documentation and reporting, service life considerations, defect identification, and specialized inspection techniques.

Particular attention will be given to the elements most relevant to underwater inspection professionals and how MOP 130-2025 can be applied by engineers, commercial divers, inspectors, facility owners, and operators to improve consistency, defensibility, and effectiveness in waterfront facility inspection and assessment.
