MTS corporate member and long-time MATE ROV Competition sponsor Oceaneering International is a recognized leader in the maritime, aerospace, entertainment/theme parks, and material handling (including automotive and healthcare) industries. The company has built a reputation for outstanding safety performance. Oceaneering has previously shared its HSE Handbook HSEHandbook4_19_2018.pdf (materovcompetition.org) and each year sponsors a safety award at the MATE World Championship.
As part of this proposal, Oceaneering will work in collaboration with MTS+MATE to adapt its HSE course modules and transfer that content to a learning management system (LMS) accessible to students participating in the MATE ROV Competition and other NCAT AT education programs. The current course aligns with the HSE manual and is divided into sections, such as equipment safety, hazardous energy, and emergency planning, with each section covering a number of topics, followed by a quiz at the end to assess learning. Upon satisfactory completion, students will receive a certificate and digital badge that recognizes that this content is adapted from awarded by Oceaneering and MTS+MATE.
