Tony White holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech. His early career involved working with large autonomous hydrographic survey vessels at C&C Technologies and ASV Ltd. in Louisiana and England. Tony later relocated to Los Angeles to join Ocean Lab, where he played a key role in designing and deploying a swarm of 50 marine surface drones, known as the Data Diver, featuring “drive and dive” capabilities. This project marked his initial use of Blue Robotics components, which proved essential in subsequent projects throughout his career.
At Catalina Sea Ranch, Tony contributed to the installation of screw-anchors and harvest equipment, providing a great introduction to aquaculture. At Forever Oceans in Hawaii and Panama, he developed innovative camera monitoring systems and resident Blue ROV2 systems for fish mortality extraction, “over-the-horizon.” Currently, Tony is a member of the Blue Robotics support department, where he addresses customer application inquiries and tests both internal and third-party products year-round. These third-party products are evaluated for potential resale on the Blue Robotics’ “Reef.”
