Jari joined Seaspan Shipyards as Chief Operating Officer in July 2018, bringing to the role more than 25 years of experience in shipbuilding and industrial operations.
His role supports the strategic planning to advance Seaspan’s growth and diversification, and focuses on the company’s work as a shipbuilding partner under the National Shipbuilding Strategy. He leads the efforts to implement the future state operating model for Polar and the 16 ship MPV program, with line responsibility for Engineering and Quality.
Jari’s experience in successfully leading organizations through large shipbuilding projects helps ensure that the necessary controls, procedures and systems are in place to continuously improve operational efficiency.
Prior to joining Seaspan, he was Senior Vice President with Philly Shipyard and has previously held the positions of Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President with Turku Meyer.
