Greg Wagner has over 20 years of industry experience and has held various management and executive positions in marine operations, business development, and project and asset management.
Mr. Wagner is a graduate of the State University of New York Maritime College (SUNY), where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in General Engineering focused on Marine Operations and received USCG Merchant Mariner credentials. After graduation, Mr. Wagner went on to work for tug companies in the Northeast, and shortly after proceeded to perform contract work for the United States Navy in Hawaii and Puerto Rico; he then moved into the Oil and Gas industry where he captained large pipe-laying vessels, dive support vessels and derrick barges.
In 2011, he made the decision to come shoreside for the remainder of his career, since then he has successfully led several Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation (EPCI) projects, built strong organizational capabilities, and held senior leadership positions at companies like J. Ray McDermott, GL Noble Denton and Subsea 7, among others.
In 2018, Wagner joined the Alabama Shipyard team as the General Manager of the construction group from the previous parent company. His contribution to the growth of the Shipyard was undeniable and was ultimately successful in bringing the shipyard back to life. Wagner seized the opportunity to start from scratch, to write the next page of the 106-year-old facility’s story the right way. Since 2018, Alabama Shipyard has grown from nine employees to 240.
Wagner was named CEO of Alabama Shipyard in March of 2022, after holding the position of CEO at Navarro Capital Partners, LLC, an oil and gas industry marine and subsea construction support services provider. He has extensive experience and a proven track record of successfully leading organizations while maintaining an impeccable reputation among his peers and business associates.
