Carl G. Annessa was appointed Executive Vice President of Hornbeck Offshore Services, Inc. in February 2005. Prior to that time, Mr. Annessa served as Vice President of Operations beginning in September 1997. In February 2002, he was appointed Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. In 2020 Mr. Annessa transitioned from the COO role to work more closely in support of fleet and revenue diversification efforts for Hornbeck Offshore. Mr. Annessa is responsible for the company’s business performance delivery to Hornbeck Offshore’s client group for its US Government and Renewables specialty vessel fleets, and for the operating performance of those fleets for its investors. In addition, Mr. Annessa is responsible for executive management of Hornbeck Offshore’s fleet integrity programs, including engineering, vessel repair and maintenance, and major modification/new construction projects. Mr. Annessa is the architect of the Company’s original “New Breed” PSV designs, and their implementation for customer, employee and investor value. Prior to joining Hornbeck Offshore, he was employed for 17 years by Tidewater Inc. (NYSE:TDW) in various technical and operational management positions, including management of large fleets of offshore supply vessels in the Arabian Gulf, Caribbean and West African markets, and was responsible for the design of several of Tidewater’s vessels. Mr. Annessa was employed for two years by Avondale Shipyards, Inc. as a marine engineer before joining Tidewater. Mr. Annessa received a degree in naval architecture and mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan in 1979.
