ABCO Industries Limited, located on the waterfront of the historic shipbuilding and UNESCO World Heritage designated town of Lunenburg Nova Scotia is a quality builder of welded aluminum boats to 21.3 M (70 feet) for patrol, pilotage, regulatory, search and rescue, environmental research and other commercial marine industries. ABCO facilities include over 28,000 square feet of inside manufacturing space with modern welding, forming and fabricating equipment. The CCGS S. Dudka, the third of its class, was designed and constructed by ABCO Industries Limited for the Canadian Coast Guard.

The S. Dudka was christened on July 11, 2013, and is in service out of Alberton, Prince Edward Island.

This fully modern welded aluminum vessel is outfitted with complete electronics, electrics, hydraulics and communication equipment and with waterjet propulsion.  Speeds in excess of 30 knots are possible.

18.5M (61') Environmental Research Vessel
Details:

The CCGS Viola M Davidson, the second of the ‘Lunenburg’ class vessels, was designed and constructed at ABCO Industries Limited for the Canadian Coast Guard. Christened on September 24, 2010, she is a ‘state of the art’ 18 M scientific research vessel stationed at the St. Andrews Biological Station in New Brunswick and operating in the Bay of Fundy.

 This fully modern welded aluminum vessel is outfitted with complete electronics, electrics, hydraulics, communication equipment, current profiler and a variety of fishing gear to accomplish her mission. Aft of the wheelhouse is a large scientific wet and dry laboratory. Propulsion is by twin screw with hydraulic bow thruster assist. The vessel is fitted with keel cooling and dry exhaust with the stacks serving also as gallows supports.

The ABCO 29 DJ (diesel jet) is a 29 foot rapid response harbor patrol, recovery and dive support boat. The design, combined with the Volvo D6 and the Ultrajet 305, provide a safe and highly manoeuverable platform with good speed. Considerable design efforts were spent to yield a package that was relatively uncomplicated for ease of maintenence.  Various configurations are available.

The ABCO 29 is a 29 foot jet boat for commercial uses.  This vessel has excellent performance and maneuverability and has been designed for maximum operator safety, serviceability and minimum maintenance costs.

Details:

The ‘Captain A. G. Soppitt’ is the second of her class, constructed by ABCO Industries Limited for the Atlantic Pilotage Authority. The vessel was christened December 6, 2012 and currently provides pilotage service for Saint John Harbour.  The first, ‘Chebucto Pilot’ was built by ABCO Industries Limited and christened on June 6, 2012.  The vessel is currently in service in Halifax Harbour.

This ‘state of the art’ aluminum pilot boat is outfitted with modern electronics, electrics and communication equipment to effectively perform their arduous duties.
