Speaker

Steven Tran

Steven Tran is a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Utah, working under the mentorship of Professor Hanseup Kim. His research centers on the microfabrication of sensors for environmental sensing applications, with a strong focus on the development of embedded sensor systems tailored for Internet of Things (IoT)-based deployment. Steven’s work bridges the gap between advanced microsystems engineering and real-world environmental monitoring challenges.

Driven by a passion for innovation, Steven seeks to transform underutilized physical and chemical phenomena into impactful technologies that can improve societal outcomes and address pressing environmental concerns. His interdisciplinary approach blends microengineering, low-power electronics, and system integration, contributing to next-generation solutions for global sustainability and climate resilience.
