Sin Suen is the acting Deputy Director of Ships NOAA Marine and Aviation Operations, overseeing the design and build of new ships. He also serves as the Program Manager for Charting and Survey Vessels, Uncrewed Maritime Systems, and Fisheries/Coastal Sciences Vessels. He joined NOAA in 2021 after 20 years at US
Navy’s Program Executive Office Ships in ship acquisition, serving as a project engineer before joining the ranks of program management.
His experience in ship acquisition encompasses research vessels for the Navy, UNOLS community, and NOAA; amphibious assault ships; and even a missile instrumentation ship for the US Air Force. He is a proud graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Ocean Engineering.
