Sean Chapman is one of the marine industry’s leading authorities on waterfront facility inspection and assessment. He chairs the ASCE/COPRI MOP 130 Waterfront Facility Inspection Subcommittee, which publishes ASCE Manual of Practice 130, Waterfront Facilities Inspection and Assessment – the standard reference on the subject.
He is a Senior Vice President at Marine Solutions, Inc., where he leads the firm’s engineering services for public and private waterfront clients worldwide. Over a career spanning more than 28 years, he has worked across the full lifecycle of waterfront infrastructure – underwater and topside inspection, condition assessment, structural evaluation, asset management, and repair and rehabilitation design and construction. His project experience includes piers, wharves, bulkheads, and mooring and berthing structures, along with extensive work supporting U.S. Navy waterfront facilities.
Sean is a licensed professional engineer in numerous states and an ADCI-certified dive supervisor. His expertise comes from doing the work at every stage – inspecting, designing, and repairing the facilities themselves.
