Robyn Bianchi

Originally from St. Augustine, Florida Robyn Bianchi graduated the United States Naval Academy in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science Ocean Engineering. Robyn also earned a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School in 2018. 

After commissioning as a Surface Warfare Officer-SWO EDO (Engineering Duty Officer Option) she served as the First Lieutenant-Deck Officer aboard the USS HOPPER (DDG 70) for her first Division Officer Tour. Her second Division Officer tour she served as the Auxiliaries Officer/Assistant Chief Engineer aboard the USS PHILIPPINE SEA (CG 58). 

After completing her SWO tours- she exercised her EDO Option and laterally transferred to the EDO community. Prior to graduate school, she applied and was accepted to the Joint Diving Officer school at the Naval Diving and Salvage Training Center (NDSTC), located at Naval Support Activity Panama City, Florida. After graduating Dive School with SCUBA, SURFACE SUPPLIED DIVING, MIXED GAS DIVING, and MK 16 REBREATHER qualifications in 2016, she attended the Naval Postgraduate School earning her Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Her Thesis work on the development of a diver applied underwater composite repair patch on aluminum hulled ships was published in the Journal of Offshore Mechanics and Artic Engineering in 2019.

Robyn completed her EDO qualification tour at the Supervisor of Diving and Salvage (NAVSEA 00C) while also earning her Docking qualification. She served as an Underwater Ship and Submarine Diving Maintenance Program Manager and Salvage Project Officer. 

In 2021, Bianchi reported as the Assistant Officer in Charge for the Forward Deployed Regional Maintenance Center (FDRMC) Detachment Bahrain and the Fifth Fleet Diving and Salvage Officer. Her duties also included serving as the FDRMC Command Diving Officer, and Hull Cleaning Representative for all vessels in the Fifth and Sixth Fleet Area of Responsibility. 

LCDR Robyn Bianchi left Active Duty in May 2024 to chase her passion in the Diving and Salvage Industry. She currently works for Donjon Marine as the Assistant Salvage Officer. In her first year working at Donjon Marine, she was involved in the OPA-90 DonjonSmit Response to the CON-RO Vessel Fire in Port Newark on the Grande Costa D’Avorio, and the Francis Scott Key Bridge Response, along with smaller salvage and diving jobs. She has her ADCI Surface Supplied Air Diver Certrification and her Dive Supervisor Certification.
