Michael grew up with a passion for the ocean: kayaking, sailing, and swimming in Tampa Bay and the surrounding waterways. He has over fourteen years of maritime uncrewed systems experience, including both USV’s and UUV’s, their control, payloads, and operations. At C&C Technologies and ASV Global, he scaled an autonomy architecture used on over a hundred self-driving boats and ships. Michael led and implemented the design, build, and commissioning of over a dozen USVs deployed to customers around the world in both the defense and commercial sectors. He went on to capture and manage a major US Navy USV program in 2019 before joining Chance Maritime Technologies in 2022. Currently, he is responsible for engineering and software at Chance Maritime, where the team has developed and operated three new classes of long-endurance high-power USV’s. Michael holds a Masters of Science in Computer Science from Georgia Tech, and a BS in Computer Science from the University of Central Florida.
