Matthew Rigdon began his career in the offshore supply vessel industry in 2004 sailing as an ordinary seaman (OS) aboard DP2 PSV’s for Rigdon Marine, the company his father, Larry Rigdon, founded in 2002. He then came ashore and served various operational and marketing support roles.
In 2005, Matthew accepted an international marketing and sales position with Bourbon Offshore in Marseille, France. Matthew was promoted to International Marketing Manager and was responsible for supervising the numerous Area Marketing Managers across Bourbon’s regional offices. His duties afforded him significant international experience in all of the major offshore oil and gas markets worldwide.
In 2008, Matthew returned to the States to support the continuing growth of Rigdon Marine. Shortly thereafter, Rigdon Marine was acquired by GulfMark Offshore, Inc. Matthew remained with GulfMark following the acquisition and managed sales and marketing for the Americas division, which included the Gulf of Mexico, both US and Mexican markets, Trinidad and Brazil.
In May of 2011, Matthew left GulfMark to assist Lee Jackson in the formation and start-up of Jackson Offshore Operators. Matthew has served as Jackson Offshore Operator’s Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer since the company’s formation.
Today, Jackson Offshore operates five (5) deep-water PSV’s and two (2) deep-water FSV’s in the US Gulf of Mexico and focuses on Super Major Oil Company clients.
