Maryanne is the Director of Career and Professional Services at Massachusetts Maritime Academy in Buzzards Bay, MA. The Academy offers 7 Bachelor of Science and 3 graduate degree programs. Students from two programs also sit for a USCG license as well as earning their BS degree.
Maryanne and her team develop new employer partnerships within both new and existing industries for the student body and alumni. They also work hard to maintain and strengthen current relationships with employers. She is always eager to meet more employers and discuss the possibility of working together, along with being strategic and creative as they collaborate.
She and her team also work closely with their students offering career development workshops, including job search and preparation skills and hosting employers on campus. Maryanne oversees the robust cooperative education and commercial shipping programs. Students and employers benefit from the internship experiences that students have prior to graduation as well as sea time aboard the training ship, USTS Kennedy..
Before working at MMA, Maryanne’s career in higher education included work at Northeastern University in Boston and the Sea Education Association in Woods Hole, MA.
Maryanne is the advisor for the MMA Propeller Club student port and the Vice President of Student Ports for the International Propeller Club.
