Lara Brait is a Co Founder along with Jeremy Devaney of The Atlantic Resiliency Innovation Institute (ARII), where they lead initiatives advancing workforce development, applied coastal research, and blue economy innovation in Massachusetts. Under her leadership, ARII launched the Coastal Academy, a workforce training program designed for young adults ages 18–24 that combines hands-on academic instruction with paid industry internships in engineering, sensor technology, emergency preparedness, and community planning, construction etc
They have helped guide the development and deployment of Massachusetts’ first nearshore sensor network, supporting data-driven coastal resilience, marine operations, and offshore industry collaboration. Her work focuses on building practical, scalable workforce pathways aligned with emerging maritime technologies and regional economic growth.
She works closely with industry partners, municipalities, and state agencies to strengthen workforce pipelines and expand access to high-quality careers in the growing blue economy. Lara is committed to connecting innovation, education, and real-world application to ensure coastal communities are prepared for the future of offshore and marine industries.
Lara also serves at The Executive Director of The Marshfield Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce where Jeremy is the Chairman.
Lara is also an elected official in her hometown of Marshfield Ma
