As the CEO and Co-Founder of Open Ocean Robotics, I’m dedicated to using technology and innovation to protect our oceans. We develop autonomous, energy-harvesting uncrewed surface vessels (USVs) that collect and transmit real-time ocean data, helping to reduce emissions, safeguard marine environments, and advance ocean intelligence.
I believe in the power of exploration, storytelling, and science to inspire change. As a National Geographic Adventurer of the Year and Canadian Geographic Fellow, I’ve rowed across the Atlantic Ocean, traveled continents by rowboat, and sailed throughout the Mediterranean with my infant son—experiences that have shaped my commitment to sustainability and resilience.
I’m also a keynote speaker, best-selling author, and documentary co-producer, passionate about sharing knowledge and sparking conversations on the future of our planet. With a M.Sc. in Molecular Biology, my background spans both scientific research and business development, bridging the gap between discovery and real-world impact.
