Jason Schaedler became interested in ROV’s at a young age through dozens of Titanic documentaries. This, mixed with a growing fascination in sharks and other marine life, lead him to attend the University of Rhode Island and pursue a degree in Ocean Engineering. Throughout his time at URI, Mr. Schaedler worked as an oceanographer in a plankton ecology lab, participated in several research cruises offshore, and was involved in URI’s Hydrobotics club, a team that builds an ROV to compete in the MATE International ROV Competition. It was through this club that Mr. Schaedler learned of Oceaneering and quickly decided it was the company he needed to work for one day. Now he works as a Mechanical Engineer for Oceaneering out of their Massachusetts office.
