Since 2021, Hobie Boeschenstein has led deployments of SeaTrac’s Uncrewed Surface Vehicles (USVs) in locations ranging from Massachusetts and Mississippi to the Arabian Gulf. As director of operations, Hobie wears demonstrates exceptional problem-solving skills and extreme versatility in his support of SeaTrac’s mission to make marine data more accessible to the company’s many stakeholders. He has a passion for serving customers across scientific, commercial, and military industries by providing SeaTrac USVs for safe, sustainable, and cost-effective data collection in diverse environments, from nearshore waters to the open ocean.
Prior to supporting SeaTrac, Hobie served in positions of increasing responsibility at iRobot, most notably as a senior mechanical engineer. He holds master’s degrees in mechanical engineering (MSME) and business administration (MBA) from the Babson F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business, and earned a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Northeastern University.
Hobie is a lifelong boater and often enjoys his free time with his family on the water.
