George A. Moutafis was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Fincantieri Marine Group (FMG) on July 1, 2025. He brings more than 25 years of executive leadership experience spanning the public and private sectors, with a career distinguished by strategic insight, operational excellence, and a record of guiding complex industrial organizations through transformation and growth.
Moutafis’ professional background includes senior leadership roles across major defense and manufacturing enterprises. Prior to his appointment as CEO, he served as Chief Operating Officer and General Manager of Beretta USA Corp., where he oversaw integrated operations, advanced production initiatives, and strategic modernization programs. His earlier tenure with FMG included key leadership positions supporting innovation, program execution, and delivery for critical U.S. Navy shipbuilding programs.
Recognized for his expertise in defense, naval manufacturing, and industrial restructuring, Moutafis brings a global perspective and a proven ability to drive operational performance, financial management, and long-term strategic alignment. His leadership supports the Group’s mission to meet evolving national security needs and the broader priorities shaping the U.S. institutional and industrial landscape.
George holds a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University.
He is married and the father of two children.
