Captain Eddie Compass IV was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 2006 where he completed his Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Marine Transportation. Captain Compass circumnavigated the world before he founded Next Generation Logistics (NGL) in 2015, which is a full[1]service marine transportation and logistics company. NGL is one of two minority-owned shipping companies in America. NGL’s vessels have worked both domestically and internationally. In 2019, NGL expanded its business offeringsinto Land Construction, and Dredging. While gaining mastery levels completion in the maritime industry, Captain Eddie began arming himself with all the knowledge and hands on experience needed to become a viable contender in the dredging industry. He used those skills attained to position himself and his company to bid and `compete for several dredging opportunities. Capitan Eddie strategically pivoted himself and his company to be in the dredging industry and began developing and cultivating relationships with various USACE districts and DoD agencies throughout the United States. Captain Eddie is proud to have the USACE New Orleans, USACE Vicksburg, USACE Memphis, USACE Huntington, USACE Wilmington, USACE Norfolk, theU.S. Customs and Border Patrol, the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Navy and the Department of Homeland Security, as part of a long list of government clients who consistently utilize Next Generation Logistic’s unique skill set to fulfill the needs, specific to each region/ district. Eddie has been honored by winning the Star of the Sea Award and The Rising Star Award from Junior Achievement. As CEO of Next Generation Logistics, Eddie has received many awards, including but not limited to the Top 20 Most Influential People in Maritime, Top 40 Under 40 and 3x’srunning Biz Magazine’s Top 500 businessesin Louisiana. Eddie sits on several local,state and national boards. Finally, he is a devoted husband to his wife of 11 years, Andrea Compass, and father to his (2) sons, Eddie P. Compass V, and Crew Carmichael Compass.
