David has been involved in positioning and navigation solutions for the marine industry for over 20 years. He has extensive expertise in GNSS and inertial technologies, developing products and solutions that solve customer problems. He graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Topographic Science from Glasgow University in 1996 and a Ph.D. from Nottingham University in 2001.
He previously worked for Subsea Offshore and Thales before joining Veripos in 2003, which Hexagon acquired in 2014. In his 20 years with Hexagon, he has held various roles, including Technology Manager, Technical Sales Manager and Marine Segment Manager.
Currently, David is the marine and subsea business development manager at SBG Systems. SBG Systems specialises in the design and manufacture of high-precision inertial navigation systems based on MEMS technology. Its technology and products are used across various markets, including autonomous vehicles, surveying, defence, and marine.
