Commander Thomas C. Rodzewicz reported in to SFLC as the Medium Endurance Cutter Product Line Manager in July of 2021. In this capacity he is responsible for the maintenance and repair of 28 Cutters ranging in size from 210 feet to the 295 foot CGC EAGLE.
He graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 2003 earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and earned two Master’s Degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the University of Michigan in 2010.
He has held a variety of sea-going and staff positions throughout his career, including nine years of sea time on five Coast Guard Cutters.
During his most recent tour, as the Commanding Officer of CGC SPENCER (WMEC 905), Commander Rodzewicz led his crew through two Eastern Pacific Joint Interagency Task Force South counter-narcotics patrols, a District One fisheries enforcement and Search and Rescue patrol, and two District Seven Alien Migrant Interdiction Operations and counter-narcotics patrols.
CDR Rodzewicz previously served as the Executive Officer of CGC DAUNTLESS (WMEC 624), as an Instructor at the United States Coast Guard Academy, and Engineering Training Officer of CGC EAGLE (WIX 327) where he was responsible for the education and training of the service’s future officers.
Additionally, CDR Rodzewicz served as the Engineer Officer onboard CGC DILIGENCE (WMEC 616), as a Port Engineer for the 9th Coast Guard District, and was a qualified Deck Watch Officer onboard CGC THETIS (WMEC 910) while serving as the Damage Control assistant and later relieving as the Engineer Officer.
Commander Rodzewicz’ awards include two Meritorious Service Medals, three Coast Guard Commendation Medals, Coast Guard Achievement Medal, and several other personal and unit awards.
