Biography

Stevens towing currently operates a fleet of 13 tugs and 50 barges. Stevens is a fourth-generation marine towing company that has been in continuous operation since incorporation in 1913.  Stevens is a diversified marine operation that operates brown water tugs and barges, blue water tugs and barges, a small Jones Act ship internationally, and a shipyard at Yonges Island, SC. Stevens also operates a 500-ton floating derrick in the Port of Charleston and a 500-ton derrick in the Port of Savannah.
-Founding Director of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway Association
-Chairman of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway Association from 2003 to 2006
-Past Chairman (2007) of the Maritime Association of South Carolina
-Vice President of the Charleston Propeller Club (2011); President of the Charleston Propeller Club (2012) 
-Education:  Bachelor of Arts, History, the University of the South, Sewanee, TN; Master of Business Administration, The Citadel, Charleston, SC
 -Military:  Active duty, US Army, Infantry Officer, 1983-1987, entered the SC Army National Guard after leaving active duty and retired from the SCARNG with 22 years of service as an Infantry Officer in 2005
