Ben Komar serves as the Director of Business Development within the Global Government Services department of ABS since 2021.  Ben is a Naval Engineer with more than 20 years of professional maritime experience, from U.S. Coast Guard sea service, to small, large, and non-profit contractor roles within the shipbuilding acquisition industry.  He coordinates support for government agencies, mainly NOAA, MARAD and USCG, while also providing support to the shipbuilding industry base, specifically design agents and shipyards, as they pursue shipbuilding programs.  In his role, Ben encounters all areas of the maritime domain, including autonomous applications, cybersecurity, and more recently, digital solutions applications and maritime innovation.  Ben holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, as well as Master’s Degrees from University of Michigan in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering and Industrial & Operations Engineering.
