For over three decades, Tony has served in the commercial diving and oil and gas industries, bringing his expertise to various roles such as Consultant, Board Advisor, Industry Specialist, and Head of Global Diving Operations. His journey began as a military and commercial diver and supervisor, enriched by extensive experience in surface supplied and saturation diving.
Currently serving as the CEO and Diving Technical Advisor at DSMS, Tony plays a pivotal role in guiding the company's strategic direction and providing invaluable insights into diving-related technical matters.
Notably, during his 11 years’ tenure at ExxonMobil, Tony helped to deliver more than 25 major offshore oil and gas capital projects (Upstream) and championed the changes to international diving legislation such as IMO Code of Safety For Diving Operations. During the span of his career, his leadership extended to managing a department comprising 45 direct staff members and overseeing 700 offshore contractor personnel. He also orchestrated the consolidation of diving technical functions amid company acquisitions, pioneered the establishment of the Diving Center of Excellence for a prominent oil and gas operator, and was instrumental in devising comprehensive diving training programs, leading to the attainment of multiple international accreditations.
Tony's engagement extends to active participation in various diving technical workgroups and committees, including ADCI, IMCA, ABS, and other esteemed national and international diving standards organizations. Through his commitment, Tony continues to provide his expertise in commercial diving to shape the realm of safety within the industry.
