Aidan Thorn joined Sonardyne in August 2021 as Business Development Manager – Marine Robotics. Through this role Aidan is responsible for achieving sustainable growth for Sonardyne across multiple markets in Marine Autonomous Systems and Vehicles. Aidan has also served on various industry groups, boards and committees. He is currently the Vice Chair of the Society for Maritime Industries Maritime Autonomous Systems Group Council, a member of the Global Underwater Hub South steering committee and the Marine Measurement Forum steering group. He was formerly the South Coast Centre of Excellence for Satellite Applications Catapult’s lead for Marine Autonomy on their Advisory Group and served as Chair of NOC’s Marine Autonomy and Technology Showcase (MATS) Delivery Committee from 2018-2020. Prior to joining Sonardyne Aidan spent 21 years working for the National Oceanography Centre in a variety of industry facing roles, including as Marine Robotics Innovation Centre Business Manager.
