Owners and operators are evaluating what to do with the fleet of existing midlife vessels. One option is to retrofit these vessels. Retrofitting ESS on board such a could have a positive impact on the overall operational cost of the vessel. In terms of reduced emissions, reduced running hrs, increased fuel efficiency and lower maintenance cost. it could also allow the vessel to be powered by the shore and in some cases short zero emission runs can be acheived. This presentation will explore the scope, supply and considerations in designing, integrating and implementing a retrofit project. Different vessel types have diverse needs, this presentation will touch upon how to use these various applications and how they will integrate with the existing systems allready installed on board the vessel, and with the shore side power systems.
