NAVSEA Basic Paint InspectorA five-day QA course that was developed by Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) to train coatings inspectors to inspect critical coated areas as defined by US Navy policy documents. These areas include (but not limited to): cofferdams, decks for aviation and UNREP, chain lockers, underwater hull, bilges, tanks, voids, well deck overheads and others. The content of the course is similar in nature to the NACE CIP Session I, but with a particular focus on ship painting issues.

The surface preparation chapter addresses key topics including abrasive selection, dew point factors, dehumidification, and ventilation while the application chapter covers application tips and techniques, proper storage, and commonly used formulas and calculations.  Separate sections are devoted to key concrete standards, soluble salts, inspection, and international marine regulations. 

Water Jetting Training Program

Water Jetting Training ProgramThis program assesses the skills of waterjetters who have a minimum of 120 hours waterjetting work experience and prior documented employer-provided training on the waterjetting equipment they use on the job. Candidates are certified through a brief written exam and a practical hands-on skill assessment. This is not a training program for beginners. It is a certification program for waterjetters meeting specific experience requirements.
