SCF 6,600 HP Z-Drive Towboats
TSGI was contracted by SCF Marine to design a 6,600 HP triple screw z-drive towboat. All three vessels were built and delivered and are in service on the inland rivers for SCF Marine. They are the largest z-drive towboats on the inland waterway. C&C Marine & Repair is currently building a 4th 6,600 HP triple z-drive towboat for SCF Marine from this design.
TxDOT Ferry Design & Construction Oversight
TSGI was tasked by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to provide design, engineering and construction oversight services for a new 495 passenger, 70 car diesel-electric with energy storage ferry to provide service from Galveston Island to Bolivar Peninsula. The vessel features Voith Schneider cycloidal propellers and diesel electric power generation with 1.4MWhr of energy storage provided by Siemens using the BlueDrive PlusC. Construction on the vessel has commenced with TSGI provided full construction oversight for TxDOT.
2,400 HP Triple Screw Towboat
TSGI was contracted by a vessel operator to provide design engineering services for a new triple screw 79’ x 33’ Subchapter M towboat.
