Triplex shark jaws are designed according to Norwegian Maritime Directorate regulations (NMD 48), approved by Petrobras Shell, and are standard equipment for Maersk Supply Service and Edison Chouest Offshore. The Triplex shark jaw is self-centering, so external centering devices are not necessary. Key features include each jaw can be raised and locked independently, type-approved by ABS and DNV, both wire and chain can be locked in the same jaws, and double security, link joints extend over 180 degrees, hydraulic cylinders maintain pressure. Triplex Shark Jaws have a unique quick release system. ’Jaws in position’ safety system and an emergency release: less than two seconds.
FibreTrac Crane - the smart tool for heavy lifting
Fibre rope is virtually weightless in water regardless of the length of rope payed out, adding nothing to the load experienced by the crane. This is in complete contrast to steel wire rope. The ever increasing weight of wire payed out limits the load permissible and reduces the crane's capabilities. A fibre rope crane with 150T SWL capacity is able to replace a 250T SWL capacity steel wire crane when lifting loads at depths in excess of 3000m. A smaller crane and vessel enables owners to bid on a wider range of contracts with reduced overall costs.
Bow Hawser Winch
MacGregor Rapp engineers reliable and robust bow hawser winches for tugboats. MacGregor bow hawser winches can have a pull capacity from 10 to 100 tons, with custom drum size to fit varied rope and wire capacity. Certain models have multiple motor gearbox for redundancy and the winches either have electric or hydraulic drive units. An optional upgrade is MacGregor Rapp's patented liquid cooled motor for the electric drive unit. The level wind can be electrical, hydraulic or mechanically driven. Brakes and clutches can be hydraulically, pneumatically or manually actuated. Emergency payout is a standard feature, and constant tension and line monitoring through the Pentagon PLC system is an option.
