A clean agent fire suppression system designed for total flooding marine applications. Its high-performance discharge capability is well suited to Halon retrofit and large hazards. Uses a separate supply of compressed nitrogen gas to propel extinguishing agent to the protected space. The separation of propellant and agent offers many helpful features, such as: Increased flow performance. Smaller pipe sizes are used to discharge larger agent quantities. This offers a significant reduction in materials and installation costs. May be used as a virtual “drop-in” replacement for existing Halon installations. Perfect choice for large enclosures or long pipe networks. Agent may be propelled for longer distances than conventional systems. Approved for marine applications such as machinery spaces and flammable liquid storage areas by the USCG and UL. Weighs less and takes up less space than carbon dioxide and water mist systems. Kidde Fire Systems Carbon Dioxide Fire Suppression System
Since many shipboard fires begin in unoccupied cargo holds or machinery spaces, Kidde Fire Systems offers the Carbon Dioxide Fire Suppression System to contain such a fire before it can spread to threaten passengers, assets or the vessel itself. The system utilizes sophisticated electric and/or pneumatic detection units that sense fire at its inception. The suppressant is delivered through a fixed piping network to multi-jet nozzles which discharge carbon dioxide directly onto the hazard—providing rapid fire protection around the clock. It is approved for use in marine applications such as machinery spaces and flammable liquid storage areas by Underwriters Laboratories, The American Bureau of Shipping (Type Approval), and Lloyd’s Register of Shipping (Type Approval). Kidde Fire Systems ECS™ Clean Agent Fire Suppression System
If you’re building a new vessel or retrofitting the Halon system on an existing vessel, choose our Clean Agent Fire Suppression System. Instead of taking oxygen from the protected space, the clean agent works by interrupting the fire on a molecular level. That makes it the preferred fire suppression agent for protection of shipboard spaces where crew or other occupants may be present. The system is approved for use in marine applications such as machinery spaces and flammable liquid storage areas by UL, FM, LPC, USCG, ABS, DNV, MCA and AMSA. The system weighs less than either carbon dioxide or water mist systems. So it provides more fuel-efficient solutions to shipboard fire protection. Kidde Fire Systems provides 24-hour fire protection and integrated detection capabilities for cooking appliances and galley ventilation equipment.
