Chip Bishop

Chip Bishop is the Deputy Chief Counsel for the Office of Advocacy. He has over a decade of experience in federal service, having most recently served as Chief Economist and Economics Unit Chief at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) since 2022. Before his service at ICE, he served for seven years at the U.S. Department of Transportation as a senior economist and took details at the U.S. Department of Labor and the U.S. Office of Management and Budget.

Besides his tenure in the federal government, Bishop has worked at think tanks, as a teacher, and at small businesses in the U.S. and Europe.

Bishop holds an M.A. in Economics from George Mason University, a B.A. in Economics, Communication, and International Political Economy from Carthage College, and an A.A. from College of DuPage.
