Isotta Fraschini Motori (IFM) manufactures three families of modern high speed diesel engines. The engines range from 300 kW to 2750 kW for main propulsion and from 3 kWe to 2100 kWe for power generation.
Fincantieri designs their propellers with a focus on matching the performance with propulsive efficiency in all operating conditions, cavitation behavior, underwater noise emissions, and induced vibrations.
In order to satisfy all of these design constraints, Fincantieri custom designs their propellers for each vessel, assessing the particular features of each hull.
The range of Fincantieri's propellers include:
- Fixed Pitch Propellers (FPP)
- Controllable Pitch Propellers (CPP)
- Featherable Controllable Pitch Propellers (FCPP)
