Klüber Lubrication is a trusted partner of marine operators. Our portfolio of over 2,500 lubricants allows for a specific match between the properties of the lubricant and the application. Klüber Lubrication marine specific lubricants include environmentally acceptable lubricants that both meet the specifications of the US Vessel General permit and are approved for use by leading OEMs. Let us help you achieve your organizational objectives in cost reduction, improved safety, improved environmental compliance, and increased operational uptime. Efficiency-boosting specialty marine lubrication from Klüber is developed to endure the elements your operation faces every day. These high-performance lubrication solutions can hold up under arctic cold, tropical storms and seawater exposure, while significantly extending maintenance intervals and the service life of components — from thrusters, stabilizers and stern tubes to open gears, cranes, winches and wire ropes.
Klüberbio AG 39-602 is an environmentally acceptable adhesive lubricant for open gears and steel cables. Based on ester oil, selected additives and solid lubricants, the grease complies with the requirements for environmentally acceptable lubricants (EALs) as defined in Appendix A of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s 2013 Vessel General Permit (VGP).
Klüberbio AG 39-602 contains less than 60 percent of renewable raw materials, resulting in reduced environmental impact in the event of discharge into water. With its good adhesion to surfaces and water resistance, Klüberbio AG 39-602 leads to long relubrication intervals. The product’s anti-corrosion additives also ensure longer component life and reduced wear. Klüberbio AG 39-602 meets the biodegradability, minimally toxic and non-bioaccumulative standards established by the 2013 VGP.
Klüberbio AG 39-602 can be applied continuously through transfer lubrication with pinion or by brush. Compressed-air lubrication equipment can be used for the lubrication of steel cables. The required lubricant quantity depends on the operating conditions in each individual case.
Our Klüberbio EG 2 Series gear oils are high-performing, readily biodegradable and non-toxic and are based on synthetic ester oil.
Their biodegradability acc. to OECD 301 F is = 60 % after 28 days. Klüberbio EG 2 series gear oils contain > 90 % of renewable raw materials and comply with the European Ecolabel.
Klüberbio EG 2-68, 2-100 and 2-150 gear oils were developed for the lubrication of ships’ gearboxes, particularly for thrusters and rudder propellers. They comply with the oil specifications of leading thruster manufacturers. Klüberbio EG 2-150 can be used in gears with wet-running multiple disc clutches made by Ortlinghaus-Werke GmbH after confirmation by the thruster OEM.
