The 8th Annual Shipyard Day is where the International WorkBoat Show and WorkBoat magazine celebrate the boatbuilding industry with a series of special events recognizing shipyards and the new vessels built for workboat owners and operators. Join us this year when WorkBoat Editor David Krapf, Senior Editor Ken Hocke and Technical Editor Bruce Buls will once again present awards to the builders, designers and owners of the 10 most significant boats of 2013.
Schedule of events:
11:30am- 12:30pm | Shipyard Day Keynote
Shane Guidry, Chairman & CEO, Harvey Gulf International Marine | In 1988, Mr. Guidry joined his family’s business, Harvey Gulf International Marine, Inc. Over the years, Mr. Guidry has worked in many areas of the company including the organization and implementation of on-board vessel safety inspections, vessel maintenance and repair and Vice President of Harvey Gulf’s sales and marketing division. Mr. Guidry soon saw the need for, and developed, a new marketing strategy for the company – exclusive towing alliances. Through these efforts, Harvey Gulf became the exclusive provider of towing vessels for some of the largest operators in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, including without limitation Chevron, Shell and Devon Energy. In 1997, Mr. Guidry was promoted to CEO of Harvey Gulf. During his 16 years, he has led the new organization into the deep water markets where larger marine assets would be needed. His primary strategy has been to provide corporate growth through fleet enhancement and focus on what he believed was, and still is, the future for the marine industry in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, North Sea, West Africa, South East Asia and Mexico – deep water exploration and development.
